World Green Roof Day

By creating more green roofs, we’re making Swansea a greener, healthier, and more sustainable place to live. They’re essential to make Swansea more resilient to climate change.

World Green Roof Day – Swansea

Join us on Wednesday, 4th June to celebrate Swansea’s green roofs and learn more about how they’re transforming our city and why they matter. Hear from the people behind Swansea’s green roof movement.

This event is in the run-up to World Green Roof Day on Friday, 6th June, when cities worldwide will showcase how green roofs are making urban spaces greener and more sustainable.

With over 10 green roofs across Swansea, we’re leading the way in Wales by creating spaces that:

Absorb rain and reduce flooding

Keep buildings cooler in summer and warmer in winter

Provide habitats for birds, bees, and insects

Reduce noise and improve air quality

Protect roofs and make them last longer
