Exciting new plans for green spaces in Sandfields

Swansea Council and Natural Resources Wales are exploring opportunities to create new green spaces in Sandfields.

Greener, healthier streets for Sandfields

Swansea Council and Natural Resources Wales are exploring opportunities to create new green spaces in:

– Phillips Parade (outside The Westbourne)

– Beach Street (at the crossroads)

– St Helens Road (from the Courts to the Bay View Bar)

These spaces will:

– Reduce the risk of flooding by soaking up rainwater

– Clean polluted water before it reaches Swansea Bay

– Make walking, wheeling and cycling routes safer and more pleasant

– Cool our streets during hot summers and help clean the air we breathe

– Bring more nature and wildlife to Sandfields

– Support health and wellbeing for everyone
